Takata - Driver Air Bag Recall
In the affected vehicles continued exposure of the driver-side air bag inflator to high levels of absolute humidity may cause the front air bag inflator housing to rupture and deploy abnormally in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the frontal air bag.
If you are involved in a collision, the airbag can go off with too much explosive force causing sharp metal fragments to shoot out and kill or seriously injure people in the vehicle.
Solution
Mazda Australia will contact all affected customers to present their vehicle to their preferred Mazda Dealer for the replacement of the driver-side airbag inflator at no charge.
